Senior Nationals, Pune - 5th to 12th April. Trials, Training Camp and Selections

25th March to 3rd April 2018, Archery Field, Dr. MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science, Adyar, Chennai.


38th Senior Archery National Championships (Indian, Recurve and Compound) - April 5th to 12th 2018 - Army Sports Institute - PUNE


  • 4 Men and 4 Women will be selected in each - Recurve, Compound and Indian divisions.
  • The trials is open to any Archer from anywhere in Tamilnadu state.
  • The top 8 Archers in the respective divisions who participated in the 10th Tamilnadu State Meet will get bonus points of 8 for 1st ranked, 7 for 2nd ranked, 6 for 3rd ranked and so on.
  • 25th March will be reporting/registration day and 3rd March will be the departure day.
  • 26th to 29th March will be practise sessions with 2 points given every day for daily attendance. 5:30 AM to 6 PM.
  • 30th March to 2nd April will be selection trials. 5:30 AM to 6 PM.
  • 5:30 AM to 3 PM: Scoring Sets. The Archers may try any no of sets during this time. Highest score will be counted for award of points. 1st ranked Archer will get 3 points on that day. 2nd will get 2 points, 3rd will get 1 point and 4th ranked will get 1/2 point.
  • 3:30 PM to 6 PM: Elimination and Medal matches. 1st placed Archer will get 3 points, 2nd placed will get 2 points, 3rd placed will get 1 point and 4th placed will get 1/2 point daily.
  • The total points accrued will determine the final team that will represent Tamilnadu at the nationals.
  • There is no fee for the camp and selections. Archers must have paid the annual association subscription of only Rs 1,200.
  • Archers attending the camp must make their own arrangements for Food and Accomodation.

Those wanting to participate in the Indian, Recurve and Compound categories please send your requests by email to or before 20th March 2018, 5 pm.

  1. Applicants must have participated in the 10th Tamilnadu State Archery Meet.
  2. Preference will be given to seniors ie: Archers who are 21 yrs or above.
  3. They must belong to our recognized district unit ( if there is no recognised unit in the district, then TAAT will field them )
  4. Archers who apply must agree to follow TAAT rules.
  5. Any archer from anywhere in the state can participate.
  6. Archers who apply must be ready to undergo training in an intensive camp and continuous assessment trials from 25th March to 3rd April 2018. The chief state coach, Shihan Hussaini ( level 3 coach - World Archery ) will be the director for the camp.
